During the rainy season, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) issues tend to increase due to higher humidity, sudden temperature changes, water exposure, and a rise in allergens and infections.
Here are some common ENT problems people face during the monsoon:

1. Ear Issues
Otitis Externa (Swimmer's Ear): Caused by water getting trapped in the ear canal, leading to bacterial or fungal infections. Common symptoms include ear pain, itching, discharge, and hearing loss.
Middle Ear Infections (Otitis Media): Due to colds or sinus infections that spread to the middle ear. Symptoms include earache, fever, and temporary hearing loss.
Ear Blockage: Sudden weather changes can cause pressure imbalances, leading to blocked or popping ears.
2. Nose Issues
Allergic Rhinitis: Increased mold, dust, and pollen in the air can trigger allergies, leading to sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, and itchy eyes.
Sinusitis: Inflammation of the sinuses due to infections or allergies. Common symptoms include facial pain, nasal congestion, headache, and thick nasal discharge.
Cold & Flu: Viral infections are more common in this season, leading to stuffy nose, sore throat, and general malaise.
3. Throat Issues
Pharyngitis and Tonsillitis: Viral or bacterial infections causing sore throat, pain while swallowing, fever, and swollen tonsils.
Laryngitis: Inflammation of the voice box, often leading to hoarseness, dry cough, and voice loss.
Postnasal Drip: Excess mucus dripping down the throat can irritate it, causing coughing or throat clearing.
Prevention Tips
Avoid getting drenched; change wet clothes immediately.
Use an umbrella or raincoat to prevent cold exposure.
Dry ears gently after showering or getting wet.
Stay away from allergens and polluted areas.
Drink warm fluids and avoid very cold food or drinks.
Use a humidifier if indoor air is too dry, or a dehumidifier if it's too moist
